CM Atishi Emphasises Unity in Diversity During Christmas Celebration at Delhi Assembly

Chief Minister Atishi participated in the annual Christmas and New Year festivities at the Delhi Assembly complex on Friday, according to an official statement. During the event, she emphasised that all religions in India promote the idea of supporting those who are most in need.

Atishi highlighted India's cultural ethos of unity amid diversity, stating, "Our culture is one of unity in diversity. We may differ in language, religion and attire, but in our hearts, we are all Indians, and we respect everyone." She reiterated that for a decade, the government has been committed to realising this vision across various faiths.

Unity and Diversity Celebrated

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Speaker Ram Niwas Goel for his efforts in celebrating every festival with grandeur at the Assembly complex. She acknowledged his role in embodying the constitutional dream of unity in diversity. Atishi noted that Christmas conveys a message of compassion towards those less fortunate.

She further elaborated on the importance of empathy during Christmas, saying it is essential for individuals and governments to work towards enhancing the lives of those who are less privileged. "Christmas is a message of empathy for those who have less than others. It is the duty of every individual, especially governments, to work towards improving the lives of those who have been less fortunate," she stated.

Atishi reiterated her commitment to serving Delhi's 2 crore residents by striving to make the dream of supporting the last person a reality. Her remarks underscored the government's dedication to inclusivity and support for all communities over the past decade.
