Government Response

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep concern over the tragedy and assured that relief and rescue operations are being conducted on a war footing. "The news of heavy damage caused by the cloudburst in the Dharali (Uttarkashi) region is extremely saddening and painful," he stated.

Dhami added that he is maintaining constant communication with senior officials and closely monitoring the situation. He also prayed for everyone's safety amidst this crisis.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to the people affected by the tragedy in Dharali, Uttarkashi.

"I pray for the well-being of all the victims. I have spoken to Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami ji and obtained information about the situation. Under the supervision of the state government, relief and rescue teams are engaged in every possible effort. No stone is being left unturned in providing assistance to the people, " the PM said in a post on X.
