Clean-up drive undertaken in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad, May 12: A drive to clean up Ghaziabad was taken up on Thursday, which was inaugurated by Municipal Corporation Mayor Ashu Verma at the Ambedkar Park here.
Apart from the MC, various non-governmental organisations, resident welfare and industrial associations, children and politicians joined hands for the environmental cause.

Local politicians launched the drives in their respective areas, during which polythene carry bags and other plastic waste dumped in gutters, stormwater drains and water channels were collected.
Around 30,000 people, including 70 councillors, over 100 municipal officers and volunteers of different organisations participated in the clean-up operation to make the city polythene-free.
Raj Nagar ward councillor Rajendra Tyagi said his team of volunteers collected the maximum polythene from the city's main Raj Nagar district centre, collectorate and the shopping malls in the area.
Raj Nagar RWA patron Vineet Sharma and his team along with municipal workers cleaned the city's commercial hub.
"A total of 650 bags of polythene waste were collected from 450 identified spots in the city, including trans-Hindon and trans-railway line areas.
