People using Claude reported failed message attempts, slow replies, and sessions breaking mid-conversation. Many shared screenshots showing alerts such as, "Due to unexpected constraints, Claude is unable to respond to your message." Others saw the message, "Taking longer than usual. Trying again shortly."

Data on Downdetector suggested most issues came from Claude Chat, with fewer complaints from other access points. Reports linked to Claude Chat accounted for 61%, 21% came from users on the Claude app, and 13% were tagged against the website itself.

Anthropic confirmed that Claude services were experiencing higher-than-normal error rates, affecting several products at once. The incident report listed issues across Claude AI, Claude Console, Claude API, and Claude Code, suggesting the disruption was not limited to a single interface.

The company said engineers had traced the fault and were working on a remedy. The official status note stated, "The issue has been identified, and a fix is being implemented. We are currently investigating this issue." Anthropic did not share technical details about the underlying cause.
