Clash in Jaunpur jail: 2 inmates, guard injured
Jaunpur (UP), Sep 6: Two inmates and a jail guard were injured during a clash inside the district jail here following recovery of a mobile handset from a barrack, police said today.
During routine checking of barracks, a mobile handset was recovered from an inmate yesterday which led to the clash between jail guards and inmates, they said.

Police said that checking was being done on regular basis after five mobile phones and psychotropic substance was recovered during late night raid on Tuesday last.
A jail guard Suryakant Upadhyaya and two inmates were injured in the clash. Later, District Magistrate Bhanuchandra Goswami and Superintendent of Police Bharat Singh Yadav reached the spot along with heavy force and controlled the situation.
The DM later said that the incident has been taken seriously and an inquiry would be conducted.
