Claim of Indian Air Force Pilot Ejected Over Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) Goes Viral
Amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, a viral claim on social media alleged that an Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot had ejected from a fighter jet over Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The post quickly gained traction, sparking concern and speculation online.

The viral post wrote,''#PakistanAirForce at its best. Video 1: A video has surfaced showing an Indian pilot ejecting from an Indian fighter jet. The video is from Kotli, Azad Kashmir. Video 2: After Abhinandan, now meet Ashish... Indian pilot captured.''
However, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) stepped in to set the record straight. In a post under its #PIBFactCheck initiative, the government agency labelled the claim as "fake" and urged citizens not to fall for misinformation.
"This claim is FAKE. Don't fall for misinformation. Always verify before sharing," PIB stated.
The clarification comes at a time when several unverified posts are circulating online, often triggering unnecessary panic and confusion. Officials have reiterated the importance of relying on verified sources for any updates related to national security or defence activities.
Citizens are advised to stay alert, avoid sharing unverified content, and trust official communication channels for accurate information.
