CISF Personnel Face Legal Action Following Road Rage Incident in Navi Mumbai

Authorities have filed a case against 10 to 15 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel. They are accused of assaulting a doctor, his brother, and another individual during a road rage incident in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The incident occurred on November 29 at 10:15 pm, according to officials.

CISF Personnel Charged in Road Rage Case

The CISF has also lodged a police FIR against the car driver and his brother. The driver allegedly hurled verbal abuses and tried to attack the CISF bus driver. A court of inquiry (CoI) has been ordered by the central force to investigate the matter further.

Incident Details and Allegations

The altercation began when a car reportedly overtook a CISF bus and stopped abruptly in front of it. This happened while buses were transporting CISF personnel from Mumbai airport to their quarters in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The car owner, who is a doctor and a local political party member, pursued the bus and confronted its driver about reckless driving.

An argument ensued between the car owner and the bus driver. Subsequently, five to six CISF personnel exited the bus and allegedly assaulted the doctor. The officials stated that the doctor's brother and friend were also attacked, and the car's windshield was damaged.

Legal Actions and Investigations

The doctor filed a complaint at Kharghar police station against the CISF personnel involved. In response, notices have been issued to the accused personnel. The police have registered a case under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rioting and assault.

The CISF released a statement confirming an internal inquiry into the incident. "CISF remains committed to ensure the safety and security of its personnel and the public and will take appropriate action based on the findings of the inquiry," it stated.

Further Developments

The complainant alleged that some CISF personnel involved were intoxicated but fled after the incident. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather more information regarding this case.

Officials are working diligently to resolve this matter, ensuring justice is served for all parties involved. The outcome of both internal and police investigations will determine any further actions required.
