Chirag Paswan To Be Bihar's Deputy CM?

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is on the verge of forming a new government in Bihar following a decisive victory. Speculation surrounds the composition of this government, with sources suggesting that Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United (JDU) might retain the Chief Minister's position. Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) are expected to secure one Deputy Chief Minister post each.

Power Distribution Strategy

During ticket allocation, each NDA partner received five to six assembly seats per Member of Parliament. This formula might extend to cabinet positions, potentially granting JDU 14 berths due to its 84 MLAs. The BJP emerged as the largest party within the NDA, securing 89 seats. Other alliance members include JDU with 85 seats, LJP(RV) with 19, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) with five, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha with four.

Swearing-In Ceremony Details

The swearing-in ceremony for Bihar's new government is anticipated within three to four days. However, discussions are ongoing to select an "auspicious" date for this event. All alliance partners will be accommodated based on their seat count to ensure balanced power-sharing in the new administration.

NDA Leaders Visit Nitish Kumar

On Saturday, NDA leaders visited Nitish Kumar at his official residence. Among them was Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who congratulated Kumar on the victory. Paswan stated that the win disproves opposition claims of a rift between him and Kumar. He highlighted mutual support during the campaign, particularly in Alauli.

Union Minister and LJP(RV) leader Chirag Paswan tweeted after meeting Nitish Kumar: "After the Bihar Assembly Election results today, met with the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to him for the NDA's resounding majority."

Joint Legislative Party Meeting

Following internal discussions, the NDA plans a joint legislative party meeting to formally choose its leader. This leader will then claim the mandate to form Bihar's next government. Ram Kripal Yadav, a BJP leader whose political career revived with a Danapur assembly seat win, also visited Kumar.
