China unfazed by Western pressures: Wang Yi

Wang Yi has not just shown solidarity with Russia when the latter is massively isolated in the global platforms, he has also brought in a peace plan for the Ukrainian conflict.

Visuals of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin could signal that China stands firmly with Russia even when the Western countries have been applying immense pressure on it to not to do so. The US with its allies have been asking China to take a stand on the Ukraine war but without much success. The Chinese stand is quite crucial since it has veto power in the Security Council.

However, now what appears quite clear to the world, there is no rift between Russia and China and the latter stands firmly with the earlier. Whereas Putin admitted that relations between the two countries have reached 'new frontiers,' Wang Yi was quoted saying that no amount of pressure would work and China, Russia won't be swayed by others.

Wang Yi's country China is already under immense pressure after the news stories came out that it was about to send weapons to Russia.

China not to condemn Russian attack on Ukraine

The Western world is still waiting for the official condemnation of the Russian attack on Ukraine as the country has not yet done that. Russia so far has maintained that it is not an attack on Ukraine but a "special military operation". Interestingly, the operation has lasted for more than a year, taking thousands of civilian lives.

Not just that China has denied any arms supply to Russia but also maintained that the situation does not even require them to supply weapons. Needless to say during his visit to Russia, Wang placed a lot of emphasis on the fact that Moscow and Beijing both support multi-polarity and democratisation of international relations.

China believes NATO systematically provoked Russia

The Chinese diplomat was quoted saying that the bilateral relations between China and Russia relations are not directed against any third country. Therefore, according to him the natural culmination of this is that the relations would not be swayed by the third country or group of countries.

He essentially was indicating to the USA and its allies who have been trying to create divisions between Russia and China. Notwithstanding what China has echoed Russia's claim that the US and NATO are to blame for the conflict as they have systematically provoked Russia to act for its sovereignty and integrity.
