Officials report that the tragic incident claimed the lives of at least 238 people, with 900 others sustaining injuries. This calamity stands as the deadliest railway accident witnessed in the country in over two decades. The train crash took place in Balasore and involved the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train loaded with iron ore.

A recently surfaced video allegedly captures the interior of the Coromandel Express mere minutes before the fatal train collision. According to reports, a passenger aboard the Coromandel Express recorded the footage.

The video, shared on Odisha TV's official Twitter account, depicts sanitation staff mopping the floor of an air-conditioned coach. Numerous passengers can be seen peacefully resting in their berths. Suddenly, a jolt rocks the train, possibly causing the person filming to lose balance. Subsequently, the scene becomes a blur, with the sound of terrified screams engulfing the chaos.

In another unfortunate incident, just days after the infamous Balasore train crash, a goods train in Odisha tragically ran over six laborers at the Jajpur Road railway station. As reported by PTI, six laborers lost their lives, while two others sustained critical injuries.
