Chilling Bihar Case: Man Hangs Three Daughters Using Late Wife’s Sarees, Two Sons Survive

A deeply disturbing incident has come to light from Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, where a man allegedly killed his three young daughters before taking his own life.

The tragedy unfolded inside the family home in Misraulia village, leaving the local community in shock. Police say the man also attempted to kill his two sons, who survived the ordeal.

Family Struggling After Mother's Death

The deceased man has been identified as Amarnath Ram. His wife had reportedly passed away about a year ago, after which he was living alone with his five children. The victims have been named as Anuradha, aged 12, Shivani, aged 7, and Radhika, aged 6. The surviving children are Shivam, aged 6, and Chandan, aged 5.

Residents of the village have offered differing accounts of what may have driven Amarnath to such an extreme step. Some neighbours claimed that he was finding it difficult to raise five children on his own following his wife's death. Others alleged that he was under financial pressure after borrowing money from a private finance firm.

A police officer, however, said the motive behind the crime is not yet clear, and a thorough investigation is on.

Disturbing Sequence Inside the House

Investigators found broken eggshells in the kitchen, indicating that Amarnath had cooked and fed the children before the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that he asked all five children to stand on a wooden trunk inside the house.

Police believe Amarnath used sarees to make nooses, which were reportedly among the belongings of his deceased wife. The children were allegedly asked to place the nooses around their necks, after which Amarnath also tied one around his own neck. He then told them to jump off the trunk and followed suit.

The two sons did not jump and survived, while the three daughters died at the scene.

Survivor Recounts Final Moments

One of the surviving children, six-year-old Shivam, gave a brief account of what happened before the incident. He told police that he had been playing with his father's mobile phone when Amarnath called all the children to come to him.

According to Shivam, his father then put the nooses around their necks, after which the tragic sequence of events unfolded.

Police continue to question relatives and villagers as they try to piece together the circumstances that led to one of the most chilling family tragedies reported from the region in recent times.
