Child spends 2 days with dead parents who committed suicide

Hyderabad, Sept 5:In a bizarre incident in Hyderabad, a child spent two nights with dead parents who had committed suicide. The one-year old boy was rescued on Thursday from the parents' Prasanna Nagar Colony flat in Jeedimetla.

The parents Manjunatha and Meenakshi were said to have frequent arguments over finances, which led to their suicide two days ago. They were seen hanging from the ceiling.

The owner of the house heard a child's cry from the house on the very first day but did not pay any heed. Earlier that day, he realised that the couple had not taken the milk packet from outside their door. But the child's continuous cries for the second day struck the owner and he went upstairs to see that the couple from Bengaluru were hanging from the ceiling and a suicide note written in Kannada left behind.

After the police was alerted, the child was taken to a baby care center in Kukatpally. Police believe that the duo committed suicide because of financial issues only. While Manjunatha was working as a sales associateat Adishwar Electronics at Kukatpally, Meenakshi was working at HYper Mart.

Jagathgirigutta SI Srinivas said,"We found a suicide note written in Kannada. We suspect that financial disputes lead them to commit suicide. It could have happened on Tuesday night. We are trying to locate their relatives in Hyderabad." The bodies have been shifted for post mortem and the case is being investigated.
