Chhota Rajan sent to 5 day CBI custody
New Delhi, Nov 7: Chhota Rajan has been remanded in CBI custody for five days. Rajan who was deported to India yesterday from Indonesia was produced before a Magistrate's court this morning.
The CBI told the court that it wanted the custody of Rajan in order to question him. The court while accepting the CBI's plea awarded five days custody of Rajan.

With the remand by being granted by the CBI court, the investigation and questioning of Rajan will officially commence. Until yesterday various officials from the intelligence agencies had been questioning him.
The CBI will now question him in connection with the cases registered against him. There are 69 cases of the Mumbai police and 6 of the Delhi police which the CBI would probe.
These cases range from murder to extortion. Most of these cases are over 20 years old and the CBI will have a Herculean task ahead of it. The CBI is expected to seek the help of the Mumbai and the Delhi police in the probe. The CBI has very often complained that it is short staffed.
CBI officials informed that they will seek an extension of remand before the court once the five day period is over. Five days are not sufficient and currently there are more formalities that need to be completed, the officer also informed.
