Chhattisgarh: Six Killed, Seven Injured In Truck Collision With SUV

A devastating collision in Chhattisgarh's Balod district resulted in six fatalities and left seven others injured. The incident occurred when a truck, travelling on the wrong side, crashed into an SUV on the Bhanupratappur-Dallirajhara road near Chaurapawad. This tragic event unfolded early in the morning under the jurisdiction of Dondi police station.

Following the crash, those injured were swiftly transported to Rajnandgaon Medical College for treatment. Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Joshi reported that the truck driver responsible for the accident fled the scene, and efforts are underway to locate them. The SUV suffered extensive damage due to the impact.

Rescue Efforts and Community Involvement

Police officers arrived promptly at the accident site and initiated rescue operations. With assistance from local residents, they managed to extricate individuals trapped inside the wrecked vehicle after several hours of effort. The community played a crucial role in aiding these rescue efforts.

The victims were returning to their village, Gureda, after attending a Chhatthi ceremony at a relative's home in Kumbhakar, located in Dundi. Their journey was tragically cut short when their car was struck by a truck near Chaurahapadav on the Bhanu Pratappur-Dalli Rajhara main road.

This unfortunate incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and adherence to traffic regulations. Authorities continue their search for the truck driver involved in this tragic accident as they work towards ensuring justice for those affected.
