Chhattisgarh: Raman Singh wishes people of the state on Diwali
Raipur, Oct 19: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh extended greetings and wishes to people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.

The chief minister, in his message, said he wished that the festival bring peace, prosperity and happiness to the people besides strengthening the bonds among them, an official statement here stated.
The markets witnessed a huge boom on Dhanteras in the state this time which clearly reflects that the government schemes have benefitted people and brought prosperity to their life, he said.
Paddy bonus disbursed to farmers ahead of Diwali helped them for their festival shopping thereby also strengthening the economy, he added. Over 13 lakh farmers were given a bonus of Rs 2,100 crore for the paddy procured in previous Kharif season ahead of the Diwali this year, the chief minister said.
The bonus amount also proved as a great relief to those farmers bearing the brunt of drought like situation in the ongoing crop season, he added.
