Chhattisgarh Govt orders departmental probe into Naxal attack

Chief Minister Raman Singh has given orders for the probe, which will be headed by Additional DGP R K Vij, senior Government officials said. A separate Magisterial inquiry will also be conducted in the Maoist ambush in the jungles of Tongapal, about 400km from the state capital, they said.
Singh cut short his Delhi visit and rushed here on being informed about the Naxal strike. On arrival, the Chief Minister headed to Ramkrishna Hospital, where he inquired about the condition of the injured security personnel admitted there, the officials said.
Singh presided over an emergency meeting at his residence, where he was briefed about the deadly attack. Home Minister Ramsevak Paikra, the Chief Minister's advisor Shivraj Singh, Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) N K Agarwal, among others, attended the meeting.
