Chhattisgarh: Change Is Finalised, Says PM Modi At Parivartan Rally In Bilaspur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday addressed the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Parivartan Maha Sankalp' rally in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur. PM Modi has visited the Congress-governed state for the third time in the past three months, with assembly elections scheduled to take place later in the year.

"During the Congress rule, Rs. 300 crores were allocated for the railways. But this year, the BJP has given Rs. 6000 crores for development in the state. This is the 'Modi Model', this is my love for Chhattisgarh. This is my commitment to Chhattisgarh's development. We are trying to electrify the railway tracks as soon as possible. The BJP gave modern Vande Bharat train to Chhattisgarh," PM Modi said while addressing the rally.

Further emphasising on the Women's Reservation Bill, the Prime Minister said, "I fulfilled one more guarantee that I had given. Now in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha, 33% of seats would be reserved for women. Under BJP's rule, Nari Shakti Adhiniyam is a reality. This was pending for 30 years. Congress and its allies are full of anger. They think that all women will shower blessings on Modi only."

Prior to the Prime Minister's arrival, a substantial security network had been established at the event location by law enforcement. Personnel totalling 1,500 from the police, Special Protection Group (SPG), Chhattisgarh Armed Force, National Security Guard, and Home Guard have been deployed.

Police officials have designated a 3-kilometre area of the city as a No-fly zone," with anti-drone guns set up in the same region.

Reportedly, the BJP's initial Parivartan Yatra began in Dantewada, south Chhattisgarh, on September 12, and the subsequent one commenced in Jashpur, north Chhattisgarh, on September 15.

According to state BJP chief Arun Sao, The two Yatras featured 83 'Swagat Sabhas' or welcome gatherings, with four roadshows and multiple public meetings, and finished at Bilaspur after traversing over 3,000 km across 87 out of 90 assembly sections.

The journey did not encompass the Bijapur, Sukma, and Antagarh constituencies, all impacted by the Maoist conflict. However, residents from these areas participated in the event as it progressed through neighbouring constituencies.

Sao asserted that the two Yatras, with about five million attendees, have intensified the demand for change. He said that this will lead to the Congress party's removal from power in the forthcoming elections.

The BJP has disclosed its initial list of 21 candidates earlier in August. Following a meeting by the party's Central Election Committee in Delhi, they are expected to reveal their second list in the forthcoming days.
