Naxals
Bastar, Nov 15: Close to 400 spiked wooden planks, meant to be Booby traps, to maim the security forces and personnel on electoral duty were recovered by security forces in Bastar. This happened when they were trying to trace hidden landmines from the Naxal-affected areas. Made of wooden planks, sharp nails and chiseled metal rods, these could make serious injuries to anyone stepping on them.

As per a report by Firstpost, a senior official said,"While the forces were looking for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to defuse them, they were surprised to find these innovative traps. Close to 400 such death clutches were recovered from Bijapur district alone".

The first phase of Assembly elections was held in Chhattisgarh on November 11 in Naxal-hit areas. The second phase of elections will be held on November 19. Approximately, 56,400 personnel of central paramilitary forces had been deployed in the first phase of polls.
