Chhath Puja 2023: Railways Announces 283 Festive Special Trains | Check List

The Ministry of Railways reported in a press release, "Last year, Indian Railways had scheduled 2614 trips of 216 Puja Special trains." The release emphasized that crowd control measures are being meticulously implemented, with queues established at terminus stations under the watchful eye of RPF (Railway Protection Force) personnel to facilitate organized boarding for passengers.

Additionally, there is an augmented presence of RPF personnel at major stations to ensure passenger security. Officers have been assigned emergency duties at key stations to oversee the smooth operation of trains, and staff members are distributed across various sections to promptly address any disruptions in train services.

To enhance passenger convenience, measures have been implemented for the frequent and timely announcement of train arrivals, departures, and platform assignments. "May I Help You" booths are operational at important stations, with RPF personnel and TTEs (Train Ticket Examiners) deployed to provide passengers with proper assistance and guidance. Medical teams are on standby at major stations, with ambulances staffed by paramedical teams readily available.

The Security and Vigilance Department is diligently monitoring for any irregularities or malpractices. Zonal Headquarters have issued directives to maintain cleanliness, especially in waiting halls, retiring rooms, platforms, and stations in general.

Earlier, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw disclosed the number of trains introduced by the Railways to accommodate the smooth travel of passengers in preparation for Diwali and Chhath Puja.
