Cheteshwar Pujara’s Brother‑in‑Law Jeet Pabari Found Dead in Rajkot Amid Legal Dispute

A deeply unsettling incident has emerged from Rajkot as Jeet Rasikbhai Pabari, the brother-in-law of former Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara, was found dead after what police believe was suicide.

Officers reached a private hospital where he had been taken, but doctors confirmed that he had already passed away. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Case Linked to Ongoing Dispute and Past Allegations

According to police records, an FIR had been filed exactly a year earlier, on November 26, 2024, by Pabari's former fiancée at the Malviya Nagar Police Station. She accused him of forcing physical relations under the promise of marriage and claimed their engagement was later called off because of the incident. On the same date in 2025, Pabari died by suicide, creating a tragic overlay between the two events.

Reports noted by Bhaskar English stated that, "Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara's brother-in-law, Jeet Rasikbhai Pabari, has died by suicide after hanging himself. A team from Malviyanagar Police reached the private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body will be sent for post-mortem, and necessary legal procedures will follow."

Investigators have indicated that Pabari had been coping with depression and had also been facing a rape allegation. The complainant alleged that she had been repeatedly threatened in the name of Cheteshwar Pujara and claimed that Pabari physically assaulted her following their engagement.

Family Background and Personal Details

Pujara's in-laws originally hailed from Jamjodhpur but have been residing in Rajkot for nearly two decades. They operate a cotton ginning business and are well known in the region. Pujara's wife, Pooja Pabari, is part of this family.

Pooja was born in Gondal and completed her early education at Sophia School in Abu before moving to Ahmedabad for her higher secondary studies. Later, she shifted to Mumbai where she completed her Master's degree. Before her marriage to Pujara, she worked for a year in a multinational company.

Though she keeps a low public profile, Pooja often receives appreciation for her personality and elegance. Born on September 16, 1993, she is six years younger than Pujara. Professionally, she holds an MBA in retail management, has served as an HR head, and is also engaged in business activities.
