Kumkum Bhagya Actress Sanchita Ugale Dies At 22; No Suicide Note Recovered, Say Police

Television actress Sanchita Ugale was found dead at her residence in Nalasopara East on June 14. The 22-year-old actor was known for her appearances in several popular television shows and films.

According to reports, preliminary police findings suggest that the actress may have died by suicide.

What Happened to Sanchita Ugale?

According to information shared by the authorities, Sanchita was found inside her bedroom after she had reportedly locked herself in. Family members and neighbours rushed her to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Following the incident, police officials visited the residence and completed the necessary legal formalities. An inquest was conducted before the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.

What Was Found at the Residence?

A police official told PTI, "A police team inspected the scene immediately after being alerted about the incident. We did not find anything suspicious at the spot, and no suicide note was recovered."

Investigation Underway

Based on a complaint lodged by her father, Machhindra Ugale, police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on June 15.

Officials have clarified that the exact circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear at this stage. Investigators are examining all possible angles, and further inquiries are currently underway.

Sanchita Ugale's Career

Sanchita Ugale had carved out a place for herself as a promising young talent in the entertainment industry. She gained recognition through her work in television and digital projects. Her portrayal of Diya Tandon in the long-running television drama Kumkum Bhagya was well received by audiences. She was also appreciated for her role as Ruchita Jaitley in Wagle Ki Duniya.

The actress later took on a lead role in Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi, where she starred opposite Sorab Bedi, further strengthening her presence on television.

Beyond the small screen, Sanchita expanded her portfolio with film and OTT projects. She appeared in Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, where she played the younger version of Tara Rani. She was also part of the crime thriller Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, featuring Manoj Bajpayee.
