Six coaches of Train No. 12578 (MYS-DBG) the Mysuru to Darbhanga Bhagmati Express derailed after colliding with a stationary goods train near Kavarapettai in the Chennai division around 8:30 PM on Friday. Fortunately, no fatalities have been reported, though a few passengers sustained injuries.

The collision prompted an immediate response from the Southern Railway, which dispatched a medical relief van and rescue teams from Chennai Central to the site of the accident. Emergency services are currently attending to the injured and assessing the situation.
