Empowered by talent, hit by financial crisis: Please help 18-yr-old Sowjanya in Chennai

, June 20: She might be on cloud 9 when she got know that she scored 1168 out of 1200 in 12th board exam. But all her dreams do not come true with passing the exam. She has to cross much more severe hurdles on her way to become a Chartered Accountant (CA).

18-year-old Sowjanya, who has been dreaming of becoming a CA, got the magic number and passed Tamil Nadu 12th exam. But she does not have the magic wand to remove her financial crisis on her own.

Sowjany, whose father received Rs 1,000 per month from the Tamil Nadu government, is unable to bear the expenses for her higher education. Chennai Corporation has taken care of her studies so far, however, now she needs a bigger help.

Sowjanya's father, 50-year-old Malakondaiya, is visually impaired. Her elder sister has been doing BSc and her younger brother is studying in 10th standard. Her mother passed away seven years ago.

After Oneindia Tamil requested people to help Sowjanya, many people visited her house in Chennai and many others transferred money to her bank account. One group collected Rs 62,000 and handed it over to Sowjanya for her further education.

Oneindia is requesting all of its readers to help the brilliant child who has proved herself and is dreaming of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
