Charlie Hebdo- When Sajid Mir scouted in Paris
Paris, Jan 8: France, like India has been on the hit-list of Jihadis for quite sometime now and the attack on Charlie Hebdo for the second time since 2011 shows just that. In this context it would be interesting to discuss the role that Sajid Mir alias Sajeed Majeed the man who handled David Headley during the 26/11 attack played in France several years back.

In fact Sajid Mir who has been tracked to Murdike now by the Indian and Israel agencies earned the reputation of being a global terrorist when he began scouting for French operatives to undertake a major strike in that nation.
The Willie Brigitte case:
Willie Brigitte was the most well known terrorist picked up by Sajid Mir. Radicalised in Paris and known as the Grouchy Frenchman, he started off by joining a set of Al-Qaeda radicals in a bid to carry out terror strike in France.
So impressed was Sajid Mir with Briggite he decided to go to Paris and meet up with him. According to Brigitte's testimony Mir, a man fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi, was accompanied by two body guards and sported a pistol on his hip.
He introduced himself to Brigitte as Sajeed Mir alias Sajid Bill. During this meeting they discussed at length the strikes that could be undertaken in France. Later Mir took him along with him to the Murdike camp where he was trained along with several other Fidayeen fighters.

Introduction to the Pakistan army:
During his stint in Pakistan, Brigitte witnessed the keen interest that the Pakistan army took in training him. It is here that he found out how keen the Pakistan army was in training people like him from across the world.
During his stint in the Lashkar-e-Tayiba camp, he witnessed members of the Pakistan army accompanied by Sajid Mir supplying the arms for training. He also saw that there were people of British, French, Arab and Australian origin.
Each one of these foreign fighters was being supervised by Mir and this is what earned him the reputation of a global terrorist.
The David Headley case:
Going by the skills of recruiting internationally it was only natural for the Lashkar to rope in Mir yet again to handle David Headley. This man Headley who scouted targets for the 26/11 attack describes Mir as a man on a mission. His fluency in English is what makes working with him so comfortable and he is extremely convincing is what Headley had to say.
Headley was so impressed with Mir that he decided to do the job without blinking an eye lid. Later on it was Mir who suggested to Ilyas Kashmiri, the chief of the 313 Brigade of the Al-Qaeda to rope in Headley in connection with the Mickey Mouse project.
The Mickey Mouse project was planned to avenge the publishing of caricatures of Prophet Mohammad in the Danish Jyllands-Posten. Headley was paid an initial fee of 1500 US dollars for this project, but was arrested before the project could be executed.
