Chargesheet filed against Delhi ex-minister

, Oct 1: A chargesheet was filed against former Delhi law minister

and 17 others for creating a ruckus during the Jan 16 midnight raid on a house in south Delhi, police said on Thursday.

Eight months after the incident when Bharti raided the 'Khirki' extension, Bharti was issued a chargesheet him under various sections molestation, outraging women's modesty and several other offences under the penal code.

However, senior officials of AAP and the police have remained tightlipped, but inside sources say that the chargesheet was filed on Tuesday evening. The court will now weigh the charges and may order his arrest sometime soon. Some of the charges, which include crimes against women, are non-bailable.

It is also said that 11 others who had joined him that night have also been chargesheeted. The charge ahainst them include rioting (147/149), molestation (354), wrongful restraint (341), criminal intimidation (506), outraging a woman's modesty (509), promoting enmity between two groups or religions (153A), assault (323) and criminal trespass (427) of IPC.

Seven African women have registered cases against him and his companions, and complained of misbehaviour. The 100-page chargesheet includes the statements of the victims under the 164 CrPC, medical reports, CCTV footage, video footage shot by TV channels and witness statements.
