Charanjit Singh Channi, Tejashwi Yadav Hold BJP Responsible For Poonch Terror Attack, Call It A Pre-poll Stunt
A day after 1 Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel died and 4 got injured in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, Former Punjab chief minister and senior Congress leader, Charanjit Singh Channi, who is contesting Lok Sabha elections 2024 from Jalandhar constituency, held the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responsible for the terrorist attack and called it a pre-poll stunt.
Addressing a public meeting in Jalandhar today, Channi said, "These are all stunts and not terrorist attacks. There is no truth in it. The BJP is playing with the lives of people and bodies."

"These attacks are not really happening but just meant to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party... Whenever elections take place, such stunts are played like it happened last time," he added.
Former Bihar deputy CM and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav also joined the chorus to attack BJP.
Drawing the parallel lines to 2019's Pulwama attack, in which, India lost 40 soldiers, Tejashwi said "Whenever elections come, Pulwama and terrorist attacks take place... Our soldiers were martyred because of Prime Minister Modi ji."
Hitting back, Union Minister Anurag Thakur called their statements poor and low level of thinking.
"Instead of strengthening the army, they did brokerage for 10 years... After Pulwama, we did surgical strike. These people held a hearing at 2:30 pm to stop the hanging of the Parliament attack accused... People will not forget that 1000 km has been taken away - the area of Aksai Chin, a part has been taken by Sri Lanka," Thakur said.
