Chandrababu Naidu's TDP To Support PM Modi Govt Over Delhi Services Bill
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, announced its support for the Narendra Modi government's Delhi Services Bill.
The bill, titled the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, was tabled in Lok Sabha on August 1 amidst strong protests by opposition MPs. The bill aims to grant the lieutenant governor the authority to decide on the transfer and posting of officials in the city government, replacing an ordinance issued on May 19.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticised the bill, considering it the "most undemocratic" legislation. They declared that the I.N.D.I.A bloc of parties would oppose it, expressing hope that many MPs from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would also vote against it to protect the Constitution.
On the same day, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), led by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, also declared its support for the bill's passage in Rajya Sabha. Additionally, the Odisha-based party decided to oppose the No-Confidence motion brought by the Opposition.
