Grand-nephew of Netaji, Chandra Bose joins BJP

New Delhi, Jan 25: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grand-nephew Chandra Bose on Monday joined BJP. Bose joined Saffron party in the presence of party president Amit Shah.

Chandra Kumar Bose is the grandson of Netaji's elder brother Sarat Chandra Bose. Shah handed over the BJP flag to Bose at a public rally here amid cries of "Bharat Mata ki Jai".

Sources say that BJP is eyeing to cash on Chandra Bose's popularity in West Bengal. Chandra Bose has good rapport with million of Netaji's fans in the State who believe that he wasn't killed in plane crash.

Chandra Bose who has been advocating for the declassification of files related to murder mystery of Netaji recently heaped praise on Modi Government for taking pro-active step in this direction.

Fifty-five-year old Chandra Bose, son of Amiya Nath Bose, is the convenor of The Open Platform for Netaji, a forum of family members and historians which has for decades campaigned for declassification of files related to the revolutionary leader.

Bose, who studied Economics at Hendon College, London, pitched his lot with the Bharatiya Janata Party a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi declassified 100 files related to Netaji on January 23.
