'Chalo Ayodhya, Chalo Varanasi' -Shiv Sena puts up poster in Mumbai
Mumbai, July 26: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is scheduled to visit Ayodhya and PM Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi and will address a rally. Thackeray's right-hand man Milind Narvekar has put up poster in Mumbai's Bandra area saying 'Chalo Ayodhya, Chalo Varanasi'.
Sanjay Raut, MP, confirmed Uddhav Thackeray's plans to visit, saying, "Uddhav ji said he'll visit Ayodhya, address rally and later visit Varanasi, he'll participate in Ganga Aarti and offer prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple. It's a small event. There's nothing more to it."
The poster has come up after Uddhav Thackeray attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government over recent mob lynchings, saying cows were safer than women in the country, in his interview to party mouthpiece Saamna. He also called the BJP's idea of Hindutva fake and said the government has failed to check cow vigilantism.
"In the name of saving the cow, if you are shifting focus to whether someone is eating beef or not, then it is a sham. This is not Hindutva," he said in an interview published in
Now, the Sena is taking forward the ongoing fued with BJP with such posters. Of late, the party has been taking digs at the BJP over the issue of Ram Mandir. As per Sena, "BJP has forgotten their promise of Ram Mandir after coming to power".
