Centre withdraws Hardik Patel’s security cover

The Centre is understood to have withdrawn the security cover given to PAAS leader, Hardik Patel. The decision was taken on the basis of a security assessment.

Hardik Patel had been given Y + security cover in November 2017 based on an assessment done back then. According to sources, the decision to withdraw the security was taken by the Home Ministry. The same has been conveyed to the CISF officials for further action.

As part of his security, he was guarded by 8 CISF commandos. The security was in place while he was campaigning against for the Gujarat assembly elections held last year.
