Rs 2,800 Crore Approved for Tripura Roads

Key Projects and Funding

During the meeting, discussions focused on eight projects that will receive funding from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for Tripura. These projects include Rs 800 crore allocated for the Agartala Eastern Bypass and Rs 1,500 crore for widening the road from Amtali to Tripura Sundari Temple. Additionally, Rs 400 crore is earmarked for developing the road from Ranirbazar to the inter-state bus terminus (ISBT), with an extra Rs 100 crore under the Central Road Fund (CRF).

New National Highway Plans

The Chief Minister also discussed plans for a new National Highway connecting Kamalpur to Gandacherra via Ambassa and Amarpur to Sabroom. This highway aims to boost international trade and tourism in the region. The discussions highlighted the importance of enhancing infrastructure to support economic growth.

Logistics Park Development

Plans were also discussed for constructing a logistics park near Agartala on a 100-acre plot along the Eastern Bypass. This development is expected to facilitate better transportation and storage facilities, supporting local businesses and trade activities.

Flood Damage Restoration

The meeting also addressed the need for funds to repair National Highways damaged by recent floods. Ensuring these roads are restored promptly is crucial for maintaining connectivity and supporting local communities affected by natural disasters.

These initiatives reflect a significant investment in Tripura's infrastructure, aiming to enhance connectivity and promote economic development in the northeastern state.
