Centre has neglected the affected farmers: Shiv Pal

Amethi, April 13: Uttar Pradesh PWD minister Shiv Pal Yadav on Monday accused of the NDA government at the Centre of neglecting the farmers who have lost their crops in recent rains and hailstorm.

Claiming that Akhilesh Yadav government in the state had released crores of rupees for the affected farmers from its coffers, Yadav said "but central government had turned a blind eye."

Addressing a gathering of beneficiaries of Samajwadi Pension Plan in Gauriganj, the minister said "where are the good days (achchhe din, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi) and when it will come? And when the government will bring the black money stashed abroad?"

Earlier, Yadav, who was accompanied by his state Food minister Raghu Raj Pratap Singh, Tourism minister Om Prakash Singh and Mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, inaugurated the railway over bridge to link Sultanpur-Saintha road in Gauriganj.

The foundation stone of 500-metre long railway over bridge, worth Rs 33.62 crore, was laid down by in November 2011.

Later, talking to reporters Yadav said SP had supported Congress many a times but it failed to yield any result.

Yadav also inaugurated 30 projects, worth Rs 45.15 crore, and laid the foundation stone of 23 projects, worth Rs 31.11 crore, which include construction of trauma centre, bridges in the district.
