Centre calls sacked BSF constable’s ‘daal story’ a cooked up one
New Delhi, Aug 21: The Centre while justifying the dismissal of Constable Tej Bahadur Yadav from the BSF last year said that the video he had cooked up a story. The Centre informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court that the video that he had posted on the quality of food being served to the security personnel could have led to a mutiny.

Further the Centre said in its written reply in the court that the video was aimed at maligning the image of the force and that his dismissal was only a minor punishment for the offences he had committed.
Commenting on the food, the Centre said that the BSF had discouraged additional tadka in the daal to make it extra spicy and oily due to rising cases of cardiac problems among the troops. Moreover the daal looked very watery since it was made in a pressure cooker, the Centre also told the court.
The reply came in response to a petition filed by Yadav who had challenged his dismissal from the BSF.
Further the Centre said that in the BSF mess, food is being prepared for a number of people and it is not practically possibly to cook food as per the choice and taste of every person. The health of the troops are of paramount importance, the Centre also said while adding that the cardiac arrest problem has risen among the troops in recent times.
Lastly the Centre also said that Yadav had provided this opportunity on a platter to Pakistan to use it as a took of a propaganda machinery to further make adverse effects on the morale of the rank and file of the Indian forces. The Centre added that the NIA probe into Yadav's Facebook account found many of friends were from foreign countries and these included around 18 to 21 from Pakistan.
