Central Railways Rolls Out 570 Special Trains For Diwali And Chhath Puja Festivities
To cater to the increased passenger demand during the festive seasons of Diwali and Chhath Puja, Central Railways has unveiled plans for 570 special train services across its Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur divisions. This initiative aims to facilitate seamless travel for passengers returning home to celebrate with their families.
According to the latest announcement, a total of 85 special trains have been designated for these services, with 42 already operational as of Saturday. The trains will provide a range of seating options, including general unreserved coaches, sleeper coaches, and air-conditioned compartments, ensuring flexibility for travelers.

Of the total 570 services, 108 trains will operate within Maharashtra, covering essential routes such as Latur, Sawantwadi Road, Nagpur, Pune, Kolhapur, and Nanded. The remaining 378 services will extend beyond the state, reaching cities including Banaras, Samastipur, Asansol, and Agartala.
Specifically, the operations will see 132 services departing from Mumbai, 146 from Pune, and the remaining 100 from various other locations. For those traveling north, Central Railways has scheduled 378 trips to destinations like Danapur, Gorakhpur, and Chhapra. Meanwhile, 84 trips are designated for southbound passengers traveling to locations such as Karimnagar, Kochuveli, Kazipet, and Bengaluru.
Special trains have also been introduced to connect Mumbai with key cities such as Prayagraj, Samastipur, and Gorakhpur, further ensuring hassle-free travel during the bustling festival period.
