Central package will transform J&K into a modern state: BJP MLC
Jammu, Nov 21: A BJP lawmaker today said the Rs 80,000 crore package announced by the Prime Minister during his recent visit to Jammu and Kashmir will transform the state into one of the modern states of the country.
"The Rs 80,000 crore package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transform the state into one of the modern, progressive and prosperous states of the country," BJP MLC Surinder Ambardar told reporters here today. He said the package has all the components which will benefit all the sections of the society living in J&K as the package will help the state in achieving new heights of development.

Ambardar said while the package announced by the previous UPA government provided only jobs for the displaced members of the Kashmiri Pandit community, it did not cater to the need of providing rehabilitation to them.
"The previous governments just provided jobs to the displaced community however there were no concrete steps taken for the rehabilitation of the employees who had gone to Valley for the jobs as they have been living on sharing basis which used to hamper their personal lives to greater extent," he said.
The central package has kept the provision of providing better facilities to all the employees who had or will be going to Valley, he said. "For this the entire displaced Kashmiri Pandit community extend their gratitude to Prime Minister as this step will boost the confidence of the entire community," he added.
