CCTV Video: Robbery At Tanishq Showroom in Bihar

A CCTV footage of a robbery at Tanishq showroom in Ara, Bihar is doing round the internet. According to the reports, a group of armed robbers forcefully took away jewellery worth Rs 25 crore.

The video shows robbers holding staff and customers at gunpoint. Following the heist, two of the criminals were injured in a police encounter.

The robbery unfolded shortly after the showroom opened its doors at 10:30 am on Monday. Five to six masked men stormed into the shop, instructing everyone inside to raise their hands. The CCTV footage reveals the robbers filling bags with jewellery from display cases.

Police Response and Investigation

Despite the proximity of the nearest police station, which is only 600 metres away, staff reported delays in police response. Simran, a staff member, mentioned making 25 to 30 calls before any assistance arrived. By then, the robbers had already fled with their loot.

Store manager Kumar Mrityunjay confirmed that jewellery worth Rs 25 crore was taken during the heist. He also noted that they were still assessing how much cash was stolen. The robbers even seized the security guard's weapon during their brazen act.

Efforts to Apprehend Robbers

Bhojpur Superintendent of Police Raj stated that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the culprits using CCTV footage. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been established to delve into this case further. The police are determined to bring those responsible to justice swiftly.

In an unfortunate turn of events, two of the accused were involved in an encounter with law enforcement near Ara after escaping from the crime scene. Both sustained injuries during this confrontation with the police.

The incident has raised concerns about security measures and police response times in such critical situations. Authorities are under pressure to enhance safety protocols and ensure quicker action in future emergencies.
