CBSE Exams 2025: Complete List Of Permitted And Banned Items For Classes 10 & 12 Students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the Class 10 and 12 board examinations will begin on February 15. A total of 44 lakh students are expected to appear for the exams, which will be conducted across 204 subjects.

In preparation for the exams, the CBSE has issued a set of important guidelines for students. These guidelines aim to inform students about the items they can bring into the examination hall and those that are prohibited. The guidelines also include rules regarding compulsory physical frisking before entering the examination centre, according to an NDTV report.

CBSE Exams 2025: Permitted Items

Students are allowed to bring the following items into the exam hall:

1. Admit Card and School Identity Card (for regular students).
2. Admit Card and any government-issued photo identity proof (for private students).
3. Stationery items, including:
a) Transparent Pouch
b) Geometry/Pencil Box
c) Blue or Royal Blue Ink/Ball Point/Gel Pen
d) Scale
e) Writing Pad
f) Eraser

4. Analogue Watch (digital watches are not permitted).
5. Transparent Water Bottle.
6. Metro Card, Bus Pass, Money.

CBSE Exams 2025: Barred Items

There are several items that students are not allowed to bring into the exam hall. These include:

1. Any stationery item containing textual material (printed or written), including bits of paper.
2. Calculators, unless specified for students with learning disabilities (e.g., Dyscalculia), in which case the exam centre will provide the necessary tools.
3. Electronic devices such as Mobile Phones, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphones, Smart Watches, Cameras, etc.
4. Other personal items, including:
a) Wallets
b) Goggles
c) Handbags
d) Pouches
5. Eatable items, whether opened or packed, except for students with medical conditions like diabetes, who may carry their required items.
6. Any other item that could potentially be used for unfair means.

The use of any of these barred items will be treated as unfair means and may result in punishment according to the CBSE rules.

CBSE Exams 2025: Dress Code

The CBSE has also provided a dress code for students attending the exams:

Regular Students: School uniform.
Private Students: Light clothes.

Students are encouraged to review the list of permitted and barred items to ensure they are fully prepared for the exam day. Strict adherence to the guidelines will help maintain a smooth and fair examination process.
