Note: Schools must upload marks during the exam period and complete submissions by the last examination date.

    2. Key Guidelines for Schools

    • Lab Setup and External Examiner Inspection: Schools must ensure that laboratories are fully equipped. External examiners will inspect the facilities at least one day before the exam.

    • Batch Size and Grouping:

      • Students will be grouped into batches of 30, further divided into sub-groups of 15 for better management.

      • All practical exams for a batch must be completed on the same day, with marks uploaded collectively.

      • Photographic Evidence: Schools are required to upload a geotagged, time-stamped group photo of each batch, including students, examiners, and observers.
      • 3. Examiner Guidelines

        • Class XII Practical Exams: CBSE will appoint external examiners for Class XII. Internal examiners will work alongside them.

        • Details for Payments: Schools must submit accurate bank account and teacher IDs for timely payments to examiners.

          4. Marking Protocols and Error Prevention

          • Marks Submission: Marks must be uploaded on the same day as the practical exam. Only integer values are accepted; fractional marks must be rounded.

          • Finalizing Marks: Examiners must finalize marks on the same day as the examination. Once submitted, marks cannot be altered.

          • Award Lists: Schools must scan and save signed award lists digitally and store them securely for one year.
          • 5. Special Instructions for Classes X and XII

            • Class X Practical Exams: Internal exams will be conducted by schools, and practical answer books must be arranged locally.

            • Class XII Practical Exams: External examiners will oversee assessments for specific subjects, with internal examiners’ support. Observers may be appointed by CBSE.

              6. Strict Action Against Unfair Practices

              • CBSE warns against manipulating the examination process, such as influencing examiners or altering marks after submission. Violations will lead to severe penalties, including cancellation of exams and possible rescheduling.

              7. Integrated Payment System for Examiners

              • CBSE has introduced an Integrated Payment System (IPS) for examiners and support staff payments. Schools must collect bank details from all involved personnel in advance for timely processing.

              8. Ensuring Fairness and Accuracy

              • CBSE’s updated SOPs are designed to ensure that practical exams are conducted uniformly and without errors. By utilizing technology and enforcing strict guidelines, CBSE aims to maintain the integrity of the examination process.

              9. Further Information

              • Schools and students can refer to the CBSE Academic website cbseacademic.nic.in or the official CBSE website https://cbse.gov.in for detailed instructions and updates.

                Conclusion

With these new SOPs, CBSE is prioritizing fairness and accuracy in practical assessments. Schools must adhere to these guidelines to maintain smooth operations and ensure the integrity of the examination process. Compliance will help avoid penalties and ensure timely declaration of results.
