CBI arrests Army officer in Karnataka on graft charges
The CBI has filed a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The CBI has arrested an officer of the Indian Army and another person on graft charges. The officer working as a Garrison Engineer and an assistant were held in Karwar, Karnataka while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 and 30 gold coins.

The CBI has filed a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The officer identified as Lt. Col J Bath and an assistant R B Chawan are alleged to have taken the bribe to clear pending bills of a civil contractor. The complainant alleged that the duo demanded a sum of Rs 1.5 lakh from a contractor to clear pending bills.
