Caught on Camera: German Shepherd Attacks Child in Ghaziabad

In a chilling episode of a dog attack, a 6-year-old child fell victim to a German Shepherd's aggression while in the presence of her mother.

Thankfully, the situation didn't escalate further as the dog's owner swiftly intervened, pulling the German Shepherd away after it had bitten the child. The harrowing incident unfolded within the premises of an apartment complex in Ghaziabad, last Wednesday.

As per the reports, the security and the timely response by the victim's mother saved the child from further harm. The CCTV footage inside Ajnara Integrity Housing Society.

Based on the complaint lodged by the victim's mother, Namita Chauhan, the police have filed a case. In her statement, she mentioned that the dog was not muzzled during the attack. Also,the woman asserted that the dog also targeted her one-year-old son, although this incident was not captured on video.

The victim's mother has demanded necessary steps, such as removing the dog from the society premises, be taken to guarantee the safety of residents.

In a similar incident in Ghaziabad a few weeks ago, a 15-year-old boy was brutally attacked by a pit bull. The victim was seriously injured and this had also occurred in Ghaziabad.

This incident too was caught on camera.

In March, the Central government directed states to prohibit the sale and breeding of 23 aggressive dog breeds, such as the Pitbull Terrier, American Bulldog, Rottweiler, and Mastiffs. This directive, issued to states and Union Territories, prohibits individuals from keeping these 23 breeds as pets, citing an increase in fatalities resulting from pet dog attacks.
