Caught on Camera, Drunk Driver Fatally Hits Woman in Vadodara, Yells "Another Round"

A shocking road accident in Vadodara's Karelibag area has left the city shaken after a drunk driver lost control of his car, crashing into multiple vehicles and killing a woman on the spot. Several others, including two children, were seriously injured in the horrifying late-night incident on Thursday.

The tragedy unfolded near Amrapali Chaar Rasta, a busy intersection in the city. Eyewitnesses recall the black car speeding dangerously before slamming into a two-wheeler, knocking down pedestrians and sending people scrambling for safety. The impact was devastating-Hemaliben Patel, a local resident, died instantly, while at least four others suffered severe injuries. Among them were 12-year-old Jaini, 35-year-old Nishaben, a 10-year-old girl, and a 40-year-old man, all of whom were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care.

As rescuers and police rushed to the scene, what followed was even more disturbing. Instead of showing any remorse, the intoxicated driver, who had staggered out of his wrecked car, was caught on CCTV behaving erratically. Slurring his words, he repeatedly shouted "Another round, another round!" while also chanting "Om Namah Shivay!"-a religious phrase, seemingly oblivious to the chaos he had caused. His bizarre reaction, captured on video, has since gone viral, sparking outrage across social media.

The police swiftly took him into custody. Joint Commissioner of Police Leena Patil confirmed his intoxication and assured that a thorough investigation was underway. "A car rammed into a two-wheeler, resulting in the tragic death of a woman. The accused has been arrested. This is a case of drunk driving, and we are conducting further inquiries," she stated.

Authorities are now probing whether the driver was under the influence of additional substances beyond alcohol. Meanwhile, Vadodara residents are demanding stricter action against reckless drunk driving to prevent such senseless tragedies in the future.
