Caught On Cam: Gayathri Joshi Survives Car Crash In Italy

Gayathri Joshi of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Swades' fame was involved in a deadly car accident. Fortunately, she and her husband Vikas Oberoi had a narrow escape.

The actress has told a website that she and her husband are doing fine. However, an elderly couple was killed in the accident.

The video of the accident clip has now gone viral. However, Oneindia could not independently verify the authenticity of the clip.

Apparently, the incident was caught on the dashcam of a car coming behind the vehicles involved in the multi-car collision. A Swiss couple met a fatal fate as their Ferrari, engulfed in flames, succumbed to the accident.

"Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here... With God's grace, we both are absolutely fine," the website quoted the actress as saying.

Reports indicate that the collision unfolded when a Lamborghini and the couple's Ferrari tried to overtake a camper van at the same moment and the Ferrari caught fire with the overturning of the camper van.

This incident occurred during the Sardinia Supercar Tour, an extravagant automotive procession spanning from Teulada to Olbia.

Gayathri made her acting debut with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Swades'. However, she stayed away from movies after working with Ashutosh Gowariker-directed Hindi film.

She is married to businessman Vikas Oberoi, MD of Oberoi Constructions.
