Caught On Cam: Bengaluru Traffic Cop Assaulted In Banaswadi

A video of a man beating up a traffic cop in Bengaluru has gone viral. The officer was assaulted after he clamped the four-wheeler for parking in a no-pariking area.

The incident occurred on Wednesday. The cops flung into action and arrested the man who assaulted the traffic police.

Apparently, the traffic cop stopped the car when the man along with others took a woman to the hospital. Following a heated verbal exchange, the sick woman, who was being carried by a man, fell down.

This, apparently, led the driver of the car to beat up the cop.

While the name of the cop is Umesh, the accused has been identified as Suleman VK, according to a report in India Today.

"A traffic constable of Banaswadi Traffic PS was assaulted while performing his duty. A criminal case has been registered in Banaswadi PS. The main accused has been arrested. Further investigation is continued," Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) MN Anucheth said in a tweet.

The clip of the incident has gone viral.

"He's a law officer who implements law hitting him demeans govt and law and order...if someone is speeding in their car to hospital then they are endangering PPL on the road and the patient and to them also...bcos in a normal car no one knows there is a patient...for this reason only there is an ambulance...India has lot of emotional PPL who always think from first person view they never think abt others...one of the reasons we have rowdy drivers and rode rages," a netizen said about the incident.

Another user said, "This is totally wrong..they can't rise their hands on Police officer...police should arrest them immediately."

Third user had different take about the incident and said, "Only Public should follow the rules not by the police as always 💔 Even he shows the Documents of the patient but the police never understand that and Mainly The Karnataka Traffic police always need only money 🤬 if they saw other state vehicle then they are so happy to loot 💔"
