Catfight between two wives of army officer; matter reaches PMO office
An altercation between the wives of two Indian Army officers has landed the world's third largest Army in a major embarrassment.
A complaint filed by one of the officer has reached Prime Minister's Office. The same has also been addressed to Ministry of Home Affairs, National Human Rights Commission, National Commission for Women, CBI, and DGP Punjab Police. Now, the PMO has sought report from the army headquarters.
The incident happened during the event organised by the Army Wives Welfare Association at Bathinda Military station. The two wives got into a cat-fight. The wife of a Commanding Officer slapped the wife of a Lieutenant Colonel for coming late to an AWWA event. This incident was witnessed by several army officers and jawans, and top officials.
The AWWA is a non-government organisation headed by the army chief's wife. It is mandatory for the wife of every serving army officer and jawan to be a member and take part in the activities of the association.
