Caste violence again: Mahadalit boy burnt alive by upper caste men because his goat entered farm

A TOI report says that the barbaric incident took place at village Mohanpur which comes under Karakat police station in Rohtas district.
The assailants accused the 15-year-old boy Sairam of letting his goat enter the farm of Kumkum Singh, a village strongman. Singh, with his three associates, thrashed the boy black and blue. The boy escaped from them and hid in his house.
The assailants forcibly entered the house and set him ablaze, pouring kerosene on him.
The report said that the boy had sustained 90% burn injuries. Although he was rushed to Bikramganj hospital for treatment, he didn't survive.
The police have registered a dase against Singh and his three associates on the basis of the statement of the victim's father Jitu Ram. Also, a special police team has been formed to arrest the culprits.
Mahadalit is a special category created by the Bihar government to identify the poorest among dalits/low-caste. They are one of the worst sufferers of caste-based violence in the state. Last week, 6 dalit women were raped at gun point in the state.
