Captain Sunil James reaches Mumbai

The Indian merchant ship captain was under arrest in Togo since July for allegedly aiding pirates, has reportedly landed in Delhi and is expected to reach Mumbai by afternoon on Friday.
He was released along with another sailor Vijayan, the external affairs ministry said on Thursday.
"After meet between #India's High Commissoner in Accra & Prez Gnassingbe of #Togo Capt Sunil James & Vijayan released. Now with HC Sagar," MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin wrote on Twitter.
Sunil James 11-month-old son Vivan had passed away when Sunil was in Togo jail. Sunil was released after his family requested Indian government to intervene. Subsequently, ministry of external affairs approached Togo authorities.
