Cancelled SpiceJet flight irks passengers
The flight was canceled due to technical reasons.
Mumbai, March 31: Passengers created a ruckus after a SpiceJet Mumbai-Mangalore flight was cancelled on Friday morning, leaving 178 people stranded, officials said.
The flight SG-479, scheduled for departure at 8.55 am, was axed due to technical problems, said a SpiceJet spokesperson.

Many of the agitated passengers were accommodated on other flights to Mangalore. Some opted for refund while others agreed to fly on Saturday.
In 2014, SpiceJet had to cancel many flights due to internal crisis. The air carrier, which is part of Kalanithi Maran-led Sun Group, had cancelled a total of 1,861 flights, a few to Kathmandu in Nepal and all others connecting domestic cities, till December 31, 2014.
The aviation regulator DGCA had then considered issuing a show-cause notice to the airline for defying its directives regarding advance bookings.
