Can Prashant Kishor Be a Game-Changer in Bihar? Amit Shah Responds

Ahead the Bihar Assembly elections Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasised the importance of taking all political parties seriously, including Prashant Kishor's newly formed Jan Suraaj Party. Despite this, he expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would achieve a decisive victory in the state.

In an interview with India Today TV, Shah stated, "Every party and every person should be taken seriously during elections. There are 1,550 parties in India. A new party has been formed, which is the Jan Suraaj Party. And out of 151 parties, 22 parties are contesting the elections in Bihar. I want to say that over 160 seats will go to the NDA and the remaining seats will be divided among 22 other parties."

NDA's Confidence and Strategy

Shah confidently predicted a "clear and comfortable victory" for the NDA as Bihar approaches its first phase of polling on November 6. He assured that the alliance is well-positioned to win more than 160 seats in the state. When asked about both BJP and JD(U)'s performance, he affirmed that their strike rates would be equal.

Reflecting on his campaign efforts, Shah mentioned his frequent visits to Bihar over recent months. He highlighted his interactions with local people, party representatives, and workers as evidence of strong support for BJP and NDA. He believes this support will translate into a significant victory for them.
Economic Development and Employment Plans

Discussing employment opportunities, Shah outlined plans for creating jobs through government initiatives, private sector involvement, and self-employment schemes. He noted that infrastructure development under Modi's leadership has laid a strong foundation for industrial growth in Bihar.

Shah highlighted Bihar's progress in various sectors: "Bihar now ranks first in ethanol production... The fertiliser plant in Barauni has started operations... Nine industrial estates have been developed." These developments aim to boost employment and economic growth.

Opposition Criticism and RJD Concerns

Addressing criticism from the Opposition regarding BJP's portrayal of "Jungle Raj," Shah criticised Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). He questioned Tejashwi Yadav's leadership within RJD while asserting that Lalu Prasad Yadav remains influential as party chief.

Shah warned against RJD's return to power: "If they come to power, Jungle Raj will return." He claimed that Bihar has been free from such chaos due to RJD not being in power for two decades.
Future Plans for Industrial Growth

Looking ahead, Shah mentioned plans for promoting cottage industries and agriculture-linked enterprises through cooperatives. A detailed plan will be prepared after forming a new government to determine employment opportunities from industries and necessary government jobs.

The second phase of polling is scheduled for November 11 with results expected on November 14. As anticipation builds around these elections, all eyes remain on how NDA performs amidst challenges posed by emerging parties like Jan Suraaj.
