CAMPCO to export arecanut to China

Mangaluru, Jun 22: The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Limited (CAMPCO) will export two tonnes of processed tender arecanut to China in August on a trial basis.

The Indian arecanut will be used by Kou Wei Wang Ji Tuan You Xian Gongsi company in Hunan province to prepare mouth fresheners. CAMPCO will procure the tender arecanut required for the first consignment export from Thondamuthur in Tamil Nadu and Wayanad in Kerala, CAMPCO President S R Satishchandra said in a release.

The project materialised after a delegation of the CAMPCO visited China for six days from June 13.
