Cabinet nod to transfer land for Ambedkar memorial
New Delhi, Aug 3 The union cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal to transfer 12 acres of National Textile Corporation Ltd. (NTCL), Indu-6 Mill land to Maharashtra government for construction of a memorial of B.R. Ambedkar.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an official release said.
The Chaityabhoomi of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is situated in the vicinity of the land of Indu-6 Mill of the NTCL in Mumbai.
"The cabinet had already approved the transfer of 12 acres of Indu-6 Mill land, vested in NTCL to Maharashtra government for construction of a befitting Memorial for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on payment of compensation as required," the release said.
